At the Romantik Seehotel Sonne in Küsnacht, the choice is yours. If you'd like to dine in a gourmet restaurant, we suggest you try our famous Sonnengalerie – with an “al fresco” option in summer. But if you're after something more down-to-earth, you'll find Swiss specialities and modern international dishes in our cosy and historic Gaststuben.
Our beer garden is right next to Lake Zurich. Enjoy the wonderful shade under our big trees and simple, delicious self-service dishes in summer. When evening comes, end the day in style with a select drink in our elegant tower bar.

The restaurant Sonnengalerie with its elegant and harmonious atmosphere is one of the first addresses for spoiled palates in Küsnacht. You can expect first-class and regional products, which are lovingly presented on the plate by our chef.
In addition to classics such as the Zürcher Art veal cutlet, you will also find other refined fish and meat creations on the menu. In summer, you can enjoy the proximity to Lake Zurich from the terrace. Out of consideration for your table neighbors, the Sonnengalerie terrace is a smoke-free area.
From 29 September 2025 to early April 2026, the Sonnengalerie restaurant will be renovated to offer our guests a more contemporary and comfortable ambiance. The renovation work will take place Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you to the Gaststuben restaurant during this time.

In our cozy and rustic guest rooms you will enjoy the charm of time-honoured walls and floors and beams steeped in history.
You will be served well-known Swiss dishes from times gone by, which are characterized by first-class and regional products. A selection of Swiss wines accompanies the dishes and are available for tasting.
In the afternoon, we serve a small menu as well as various cakes and treats.

Discover our cozy hotel bar in the century-old tower of the main building. Warm colors and discreet elegance invite you to a relaxed aperitif after an eventful day. Here you will find the perfect atmosphere for entertaining conversations.
For an aperitif, select wines, refined cocktails and fine sparkling wines will tempt you. To round off the day, fine grappas, smoky single malt whiskies and selected digestifs await you.

Welcome to the traditional and probably most beautiful garden restaurant on Lake Zurich. Enjoy a cozy atmosphere under cool treetops directly on the water. In uncomplicated self-service, traditional beer garden cuisine with a modern touch awaits you.
We stand for relaxed enjoyment. All including a fair-weather guarantee, because in case of rain and storm the garden at the lake remains closed. Heiko Nieder, Culinary Director The Dolder Grand, has designed the food concept for the popular garden of the Romantik Seehotel Sonne in Küsnacht. Starting this season, the new menu will feature only dishes that the chef, who has been awarded 2 Michelin stars and 19 Gault Millau points, cooks himself for his family and friends and enjoys eating.
Nieder also placed great emphasis on a wide range of food for families and vegan dishes. What has remained are beloved classics that must not be missing from the menu. We are particularly proud of our ice cream stand, which is stocked exclusively with freshly and locally produced ice creams and sorbets. And because we believe that exceptional food should be accompanied by exceptional drinks, we emphasize a diverse balance of lemonades made to our own recipe and beer from craft breweries. For our younger guests (2 - 6 years) we have integrated a mini playground in the beer garden.
